This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for Tryout participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your Visa, MasterCard, or ACH checking account information available.

Ages

What aged players are appropriate for this program?

Eligible Players: Male and Female players that are enrolled in grades 9 through 12 and attend Castle View, Douglas County or Rock Canyon High Schools or that will attend online school or home school and live in the DC, CV or Rock Canyon districts.

When

What time of the year does this program run?

The season begins with tryouts in August and runs until playoffs in early November.

There are no "off" weeks during the CPHL season. Practices and games can occur during school holidays and during Fall Break.

Where

Where are practices and games typically held?

Practices and home games are held at Family Sports Center or South Suburban Sports Complex. Games may be played across the metro area.

Practices

When are practices and how often are they?

Teams practice three times per week on the ice and have two off-ice workouts per week. Additionally, the Varsity team engages in one Mental Performance Training session per week, while the JV team does Mental Performance Training every other week. Finally, our goaltenders train at the Mountain High Hockey facility twice per month.

Games

How many games will they play? What days of the week?

The Varsity T1 Team will play in 1 local pre-season tournament and 1 out of state, in-season tournament. The regular season games usually fall on Fridays and Saturdays. The total number of games is between 20 - 25 games.

The Varsity T2 Team will play in 1 pre-season, local tournament and 1 local in-season tournament. The regular season games are mostly Fridays and Saturdays but can occur on any day. The total number of games is between 19 - 22 games.

Uniforms

Are uniforms provided or are they purchased separately?

Team uniforms consisting of home and away jerseys, pant shells and socks are provided and included in the team fees. Custom team gloves, player's bag and helmet stickers are also provided and included in the team fees.

Players are required to provide their own black helmet with cage, all required protective gear, skates and stick at their own cost.

Additional Training Offered

What training is offered beyond normal ice practices?

Drill House Off-Ice Training: Twice weekly, professionally lead off-ice strength and conditioning sessions tailored to the needs of hockey players to develop and maximize strength and conditioning to be at optimal performance throughout the season.

Goalie Training: Twice Monthly training sessions in addition to normal team ice practices provided by Mountain High Hockey Goalie Club.

Mental Performance Training: Professionally guided sessions and integrated training using psychological principals of human performance to help our players consistently perform in the upper range of their capabilities and more thoroughly enjoy the performance process.

Nutrition Education and Consulting: Professional guided sessions to teach our players the impact and importance of proper nutrition to maximize performance professionally lead by Altitude Sports and Performance Nutrition. 1on1 nutrition consulting is also offered on an ad-hoc basis.

Extra Costs

What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?

The players may be required to purchase a set of team workout gear that is usually less than $200.00

Costs related to local travel and out of state travel are not included in team fees and are the responsibility of the player.

Varsity T1 families should plan for hotel costs for 3-4 nights, round trip airfare and meal costs for their player and any traveling family members for 1 out of state tournament. Travel details will be provided at the season information meetings.

2026-2027 Sabercat Hockey CPHL TRYOUTS

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information and sign up for Tryout participation. As part of your Sabercat Hockey registration, you are required to have an up to date USA Hockey registration for the 2026-2027 season. The Registration will only accept a 2026-2027 USA Hockey Number. 

Registration Process

1. Player Registration with Sabercat Hockey

PLAYERS SHOULD REMOVE ALL NON-CV HELMET DECALS BEFORE TRYOUTS

   2. All players are required to register with Sabercat Hockey even if player played for a Castle View team last season.

        Players in 9th-12th grade are eligible for tryouts. Teams are registered as 18U to allow for all players to be eligible on all teams.

    3. Registration link is provided at the bottom.

    4. Player will need to complete USA Hockey registration and have a valid 2026-2027 USA Hockey Number when registering.

    5. Tryout Fee $100.00. Non-Refundable.

    6. Registration will require the creation of a Crossbar user account. 

    7. Registration will include a $500.00 deposit fee for both returning and new players. Players that do not make a team and are released will have their deposits returned. The $500 Registration Fee will not be refunded for any other reason!

 Registration with the DCSD is not required for the Fall Prep USA Hockey SHP Teams.
