Colorado Prep High School

The Colorado Prep Hockey League (CPHL) was founded in 2012 to support player development and readiness for the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Winter Hockey season. The CPHL is a USA Hockey and Colorado Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) sanctioned league.

The Castle View Sabercat Hockey Program fields two teams for the COED CPHL season; a Varsity Tier 1 (T1) and a Varsity Tier 2 (T2) team. The Varsity T1 team competes for a spot in the USA Hockey High School National Tournament which takes place at the end of March.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a player dual roster with the Sabercats and another club team?

In addition to work ethic and attitude, commitment is one of the most important factors that determines not only the success of each individual player in our hockey program, but also the success of our hockey program as a whole.

Castle View High School Hockey values the commitment that each of our players and their families make to our program when they choose to play for Castle View. Therefore, if a player cannot fully commit to Castle View Hockey due to the commitment that they have already made to their club team, we will not offer a Castle View High School Hockey roster spot to that player.

By “fully commit to Castle View Hockey,” we mean that our players are expected to be at all team events. These team events will include film sessions, off-ice workouts, practices, games and any other team event scheduled by the coaching staff. This full commitment to CV Hockey needs to submitted in writing to the Board of Directors and signed by the player, a parent/guardian and the Head Coach of the player's club team.

Our schedule of off-ice workouts, practices and games is currently published on our website: www.sabercathockey.com. This schedule is subject to change and our players are expected to be flexible and attend as required.

In summary, if a player cannot commit to being at all Castle View Hockey team events due to conflicting events scheduled by their club team, Castle View Hockey will not offer that player a roster spot.
